I didn't mean to sound like he would get stared down in public. But, being non-asian you will already have enough attention. I became self-concious of my height after a year in Japan, because it is the first thing everyone comments on. There is no stigmata about mentioning someones weight in Japan. The first thing my friend's homestay said to him when we went to go visit them was, "You got fatter!" Laughing That's why I love the Japan - it isn't a big deal.

Well thankyou all for your good advice. I think it's really nice that you've taken the time to be supportive of me. I think I will definately keep up the bike rides aswell as a dodgy exercise dvd I bought from the reduced basket if only because I would like to be more healthy and enjoy the country on bike and foot when I come to Japan. I've never seen Mnt Fuji in the flesh but I'll bet that baby's easier to navigate with less to carry!!! Laughing

As for how I feel in myself, well I do have my underconfident days like anyone, however I am such a great actress that no one can tell as I always have my happy face on. I do think that maybe my worries about how I would be perceived in a place unknown to me are part of the way I believe people may see me aswell as just a fear of the unknown.

Anyway, you've all made be feel alot more positive about my journey.

Thankyou,

Lou lou. Smile
