Struelle--

I've done that running dication activity a number of times. I usually make teams of three, though, so that one person gets stuck in the middle--this turns out to be the hardest position. He/she must listen to and make sense out of what the reader says and must then explain it to the writer.

It's great watching the students get into it. They really try to understand, correct each other, etc. There are comprehension and clarification questions just flying all over the room!

An activity I use in class is called Circle Writing.

Write part of a sentence or an entire sentence on the board as the introduction to a story.

Have each student write a sentence to the story.

After each sentence, the students pass their papers to the next student.

Great way to review the past tense and teach vocabulary.
