Glenski I think I will call them back and find out...as there seems to be discrepencies in what they say and what is on the site...I wish everyone would be on the same page! It'd make things so much easier!
I did read your old post on this topic and see that you did some great research-as to why I'm being advised differently, I don't know...but I will try again next week to see if the answer changes. |

I suspected that this would be the scenario in regards to a WHV versus a working visa given your situation. That is, *part-time* work as opposed to full-time work applies to Canadians who possess a WHV in Japan. At least you now have a relevant answer to your question (direct from the source). As for overtime hours, I would simply do a follow up on that question. The WHV rules vary among the participating countries. When I want the most trusted information, I don't rely solely on websites, just as a reference. And when I was speaking with the consular official I mentioned earlier, I had pointed out that I had come across conflicting information about working visas and such for Canadians. He stated that "The information about visas can and will change without notice, so it is best to consult with us." |
