Guy,
I enjoy seeing your avatars. Can't wait to see what it's going to be for New Year's.

In keeping with the 'albums' theme, I just changed mine to one of my all-time favourites, Sonic Youth's Daydream Nation.
(I also love Joy Division, both albums. Closer maybe even a bit more than Unknown Pleasures. The Eterneal is one of the most beautiful songs ever recorded by a punk/pop band. |

|
|
I chose this view of Canada Place in Vancouver because it reminds me so much of the city I have visited twice (in 1994 and 2000). I stayed in Vancouver for five weeks in the summer of 1994 having not made a cent out of being a so-called vacuum cleaner salesman in Edmonton for the previous four or so. (I was on one of those summer work exchange schemes when I was doing my teaching training back in Blighty at the time - though it had nothing to do with the training!!! )
I would like very much for my family to settle in Canada, not necessarily in Vancouver, but certainly that would be a good place to live - especially as there is a n*dist beach by UBC! (I've been there - whoa! )
When I first put up this avatar, some people said it "sucked" because it made them miss home. Any more people from that neck of the woods who feel the same way? |

A fair question indeed.
As I get older I find myself believing less in God, and more in the forces of nature --- yin & yang seemed somehow appropriate. |

right about mine, SS, it was from Time Bandits but I wanted a little change. I'm playing around with some at the moment...
Cardinal Synn, I love the Scumbag College pin! From the Young Ones, a brilliant but tragically short-lived 80's British comedy. My favorite one was the letter Neil wrote to his bank manager:
My Darling Fascist Bully-Boy,
Give me more money, you *beep*!
Boomshanka (may the seed of your loin be fruitful in the belly of your woman),
Neil.
Rick: OH? And what makes you so sure your bank manager is a man??
Neil: His beard? |
