As a counterbalance to my opinion, have you read Dave's sticky, "Colombia: Don't Be Scared Away" in the General Latin Am forum? |

Guy, thanks for the help. I may want to have you look at my cover letter when I get it typed up, if you would be willing. I have never been to Sweden, what are saunas like there?
Moonraven, promiscuity ended? Ive never picked up an STD. call me lucky.
Twisting in the wind, thanks for the advice about Colombia. Im having a really hard time gettting a picture of what it would be like for me to live there. Three of the people Ive talked to say it was fine, but the best I can find on-line is along the lines of its not that dangerous. I am going to stay here in SJ, at least for a few months. who knows what the future might bring. but I will keep your experience in mind if I decide to leave here. |

. . . one of the resources I consulted on-line refered to them as saunas, hence my use of the term. I have picked up colorful local phrases in them, as well as other things. |
In the city where I live, they're referred to as baos de vapor or sometimes just baos. However, if you asked someone where the baos were, their first thought would most likely be public restrooms/toilets.

Whatever happened to the End of Promiscuity? |
Judging from what I've observed in this city, I'd venture to say that the End hasn't arrived in this little corner of the world yet. |

Keep in mind my experience in Colombia is from 1991. But, my experiences with Colombian ss are from the early 2000's. Things may be totally different in Colombia these days....but I kinda doubt it somehow... |
