I see--you have no responsibility to contribute something that ISN'T boring?

Seems to me that if you are going to "participate" in this forum that you should consider writing something for us to respond to--instead of complaining that we aren't entertaining you in the way you would like to be entertained.

All I did was write two sentences that stated that I was bored with the anti-US sentiments. I am quite sure that I am not the only one. Go ahead and keep posting them, I just thought I would voice my opinion on it.

I do not post in those political threads where the participants are being malicious, hateful and ignorant (which many are). I keep to myself to avoid confrontations, such as this. I am sorry that you are offended by the fact that many posters here are disappointed in the large overall lack of ESL-related threads lately. Now only one year from graduation, I am trying to gather as much information as I can get from this source. I really do not care about the political banter. I am aware that I do not have to read it (and I don't), I would just like to let it be known that the expertise available here is not often posted anymore.

I find myself contributing to the threads in other forums that are ESL-related, which I will continue and avoid any off-topic, futile arguements about politics (unless I have insomnia). But in this thread, I would just like to make a statement about how I feel. Please feel free to rip this to shreds, I just want to say how I feel.

[IF I HAVE MISQUOTED, I am sorry. But I believe that message was intended for me]

This forum is for general discussion. There are plenty of other forums where you can find out information about ESL teaching.

If this forum is for general discussion, why does the same subject keep coming up again and again, day in day out? Where does it lead? I will tell you - it leads to nowhere. Why? Because the opinionated posters who make their sweeping comments are set in re-enforced concrete and will never change or be changed by anything that is written on this forum. What we get as a result, does not represent discussion at all. Merely attack and defence.
At a time when most of us (I hope) are thinking and doing something about the awful, awful situation in southern Asia, others see it as an opportunity. An opportunity to put forward their narrow self serving points of view, so that they can get some more mileage out of their (insert name/government/country here) bashing.
I would pity you if I wasn't so disgusted.
