Johanne, good luck with your job quest.
International School positions in Japan are some of the most sought after in the world outside of Europe. For this reason they are highly selective. Most international schools have the same minimum requirements all the world over. The easiest jobs to be had are in places most people have no interest living.
As PaulH said comparing language schools to international schools are like comparing apples and oranges. I'd make the anology a grape to a watermelon.
If someone is set on being a teacher in an international school in a desired location then he/she should remain single, get an MA, and accredidation (PGCE if non-usian), get 5 years teaching experience in your subject area, and have international living experience. You can get a position with less, but the above ups the odds substancially. |
