No. 1 travel (HIS) appears to have good deals but when you try to get them you are never able to get the advertised price. I have used them several times and always have to pay more than they advertise, and it's not just the taxes. This time I tried to book on Air Canada to Vancouver from Osaka in mid-March, about 55 days ahead so I could get the 45-day advance booking price which was listed as 67, 000 before taxes. But, of course, there were no available seats coming back or I would have to fly out of Osaka and fly into Tokyo and then stay overnight in a hotel, transfer airports, get back to Osaka the next day and then take the bus or Shinkansesn for another 3-4 hours to get home. Of course I declined and switched to JAL which was, of course, higher. I ended paying 105,000 for each of two tickets which I still had to pay for in 3 days. When I inquired about another route through LA which they had listed, there were no connecting flights or a 9 hour wait in the LA airport or something. I think the word "discount" can be applied very loosely to these places...maybe if you have a totally free schedule, have no problem flying to America via Borneo and don't mind a little stopover in Antarctica you can get a deal.

I agree completely with Jim about the newspaper ads. You should call them anyway.

As for airlines, I've actually had the best service from Korean Air. The cabin was spotless and the service was great. Everytime I went to the restroom a fresh toliet seat cover was on the seat and the toliet paper was folded into a triangle. And the sink was spotless. Can you imagine? They had a flight attendant go in there and clean up after every person! The food was good, and the attendants were helpful. I needed a last minute gift so I chose a 10 pack of some sort of Korean hot sauce. I had a long list of questions. What's it made of? How to pronounce in Korean? Do Koreans really eat it? If so with what and how? They seemed like they really enjoyed helping me.

Lastly, one time I actually lost my paper ticket, and the guy at the counter just issued me a new one! I don't know how he got away with that. And the most recent time I flew, I changed my dates and I didn't even have to pay the change fee or difference in fare.

Okay, I guess I have one more thing to say. Korean Air also partners with Delta, so I have acrued 1000s of miles!
