"Moer" is an South African word for a screw (no not that kind of one!! )
So, stripping one's moer (screw) is an expression indicating that you are getting exremely angry about something.
Cheers boet

chinasyndrome and Sunaru
Love your new pictures, C/S your ticking bomb made me think of home(South Africa) and Sunaru what was with the dead goldfish ?????????
Just heard that we can only go on leave Aug 26th and not July as normal, damn it. Was palnning to go to Dalian to see my two sons, now that will have to wait! What are your plans for these "summer holidays" In fact I wonder if we will even be able to travel to Dalian with this 'corona' bast ard around. I wish we could give 'Mr Corona' some of this vile, white window cleaner, horrible liquid called 'baijiu' as I am sure that it would neutralise it.
Anyway enough of my pointless "female dog"ing. I need to imput my students exam marks into the computer, yeepeeeeeeee!
Sleep tight

I did the ticking bomb because you found the nuke before me. I've got a theory about Sunaru's goldfish. I think it (was) a subliminal message. Follow me closely on this 'cause it comes in parts. Before he changed it, his location was Uranus. Now what's dead and smelly and hangs around Uranus? I've found several possible interpretations to this conundrum, but I'd just be pulling skeets because Dave's software would blast them out of the virtual sky.
Hats off to Sunaru, though. He's bizarre, pithy, incredibly quick, creative and imaginative. And no, we're not in love. Well, not yet... |

Where did you get the August 26th date? I have heard no official mention of any delay in summer holidays although there is plenty of speculation. My guess was that students would be forced to remain on campus until at least mid July, assuming the present trend of daily decreasing numbers continues. BTW, does anyone else think that the math looks very suspicious?
I just signed my contract for next year, which requires that I be back here on 8/20. We have a short term(4 weeks) at that time. Of course I told them that I would only come back if things were under control. |

ChongCheng,
I know the response is a bit delayed, my apologies. I am definitely not unhappy with the rainbow nation and most definitely not racist. Unlike Klasies, I do not blame the current situation completely on the new government. They inherited the country with all its problems and basically it needs a miracle to solve the kind of problems SA is experiencing. The white minority regime, f....d the country up in the first place and now they sit back and criticize the very people they were trying to keep in the bush, who, at least some of them are trying to improve the quality of the life of the majority of South Africans. The people who tried to fight for their basic human rights, who were forced to run from their homelands because they refused to be treated like animals. Unfortunately, the power is still in the hands of the white minority. Quite frankly, maybe a war would have made a difference but our ex-president is too forgiving. I would not have forgiven them that easily. I think he is someone we should all learn from. Also bear in mind that politicians will be politicians whether they are white, black or yellow. |
