| I did most of my credit hours at Southern Illinois University. After that I transfered my credits to a British University and completed the program online. Both universities required a practicum for completion. I did the practicum at the SIU. It is quite easy considering they are a lot of foreign students enrolled. I ended up teaching test taking skills to students taking an english placement test for TOFEL classes. |

MA in TESOL
University of Northern Iowa
Cedar Falls, IA
I did two practicums, each for 9 weeks: 1) university's Culture & Intensive English Program and 2) public middle school in a school district where I'd been teaching high school English / language arts for 15 years before taking a leave of absence to attend grad school full-time. Looking back on it now, what would I have done differently? I probably wouldn't have taken the extra courses and extra practicum to get state certification for ESL K-12. |

University of Portsmouth, England.
We taught multi cultural groups as part of the curse, and we also had to pick up a private student each - and show lesson plans etc. I was given an au-pair from the Czech Republic.
Excellent course, very comprehensive, would recommend it!

NOT FAIR! I had to send off the tops from 12 Frosties boxes to get mine. And I had to write in no more than 14 words, "why I want a TEFL certificate". |

Don't have one, don't need one, and don't want one.
A BA and graduate work at S. Ill. U. has worked just fine for me. |

A: No, what the he1l would I want one of those for? I've got a degree in car design - I know all there is to know about driving!!!

Did mine in Coventry UK, but we had to do our own laundry. |

Colchester Essex. Had been doing this gig around 9 years prior to getting it. Still worth it though.

| I did mine at the British Council in Kuala Lumpur back in 1993 when it was CTEFLA, not the CELTA. Same thing I guess. |

I found much of the course work to be useless, but the week long practicum was solid gold. |
