Pay on time: my private school always pays on time. Actually, I think privates would have to, if they don't pay their teachers they will not show up for the next classes. Private schools can't afford that.
Cancellation: If my school cancels a class, I'm paid anyways, I have a contract for 20 classes/week, 50% of the time I only teach 16 - 19 classes, but get my full pay.
If I cancel (for sickness) however, they deduct from my salary, that's true, or schedule me to make up the classes missed.
What do they do in public schools, do you have to make those classes up also?
I personally don't think that from fall 2005 public schools, especially universities, will get decent ESL teachers for under 4000/month. Or is it wishful thinking .... |
