(scratches head)
hmmm, maybe that is why u are bald. the beef i have with u is the constant dribble u write on this board. either attempting to sound like an expert on indonesia or your mindless dribble that u must think very clever. do u really have such a wealth of knowledge to jusitfy 2304 posts and counting? and some of your posts have been outright lies. it had already been stated why he didnt want to publicly air his dealiings with UPI, yet u have to wade in with:

Why is it 'dodgy'? Post the story and let the chips fall where they may.

who died and left u to command the minions? what was the purpose of your post? u have already stated that u will never come back here. so u dont even need or want to know. if u had, u would be happy to pm him the those that did. do u have to respond to nearly every post on this board? he had already offered people to pm him. after 3 years of reading this board, i just got fed up your your egotistical postings. thats my beef. scratch your head, scratch your a** i dont care. i would be happy to read your postings if they contain revelant, useful information, not worthless snippets written to satisify your enormous ego. anyway, i am done taking up the public forum. sorry to the other posters, but my patience was at an end. no handbags necessary

Yeah. With that attitude, our "wannabee" teacher will never be a teacher. He went hysterically ballistic at your mild responses. Imagine what he'd do with the frustrations of the classroom! Rolling Eyes

Have you seen the Simpsons Episodes with Arnie Ziff??

The pseudo intellectualy nerd with a crush on Marge?
And the time he went to jail for corporate fraud, and he he was meeting the other inmates who were smoking.
and Arnie ziff doesnt like smoking and has this squirt bottle and squirts out the convicts' lighted cigarettes whilst saying "squirt squirt".

kind of reminds me of some of the posters on this site.

Well here we go again, lots of people talking the same old thing time after time, most schools pay peanuts cus they want monkeys Shocked and that's what they get! Shocked I have been there as well as many others. The truth is very few schools (if you can really call them that) care about either the teacher or the students, its a business and the point is to separate the students from there cash and pay out as little as possible. Surprised If you want to make $$ get a job if you want to make a difference in peoples life and really want to know what life in Indo is about be a volunteer, however if you just want to have fun and don't care about making $$ or what you do teach in a school one of many schools here. Lets face it the pay has not improved more then about 3% in 7 years but cost of living have gone up 250% and people still come , so as long as there is someone behind you who will be happy to work for them Shocked why pay or care about you?????? Question

it makes me uncomfortable to keep bringing up the "scam" tag to upi as i really dont think it is one.I worked for them, they paid me what they agreed to , and the workload is pretty light.
Actually the australian woman( "trust us we're christians")left rather unexpectedly last year. I dont know whos running the jakarta end of things but the bandung project is run by a lady who ive known for several years as a colleague and I'd definitly trust her to run it as straight as she could. Ive actually seen the material chester has, and while i cant discredit what he said, it doesnt match with my experience.
since its inception, the UPI project - basically putting celta teachers into private ' state ' schools (hope that makes sense) has grown into something pretty big. its a different style of teaching to what most of us are used to but the same idea is used by other language schools (ef included), so teachers could find themselves doing the same job for half the salary upi pay. When i left indo 8 months ago , the project looked set to continue out into other towns so i guess its going to be in their best interests to treat thier teachers well.
two waves of teachers left their jobs at other schools to go and work for upi, bandung. We're talking 10 or 12 teachers with long term careers behind them - simply because Ukrida Penabor International are one of the few schools outside of the International school sector who are prepared to pay through the nose for good teachers.
