Time has changed in China. A few years ago any Joe Schmoe backpaper could probably get a job teaching English in China. It's now getting tougher because of regulations and to a certain degree all the people people who are technically not even supposed to be considered for teaching jobs in China, i.e. non-native speakers.

I'm thinking if you get TEFL or TESOL certified you could probably get something here.

Many places here want at least a college education. As well, if you're not from a native English country, that could be a problem.

I knew a guy who lived in Canada for 16 years (from age 8 - 24) and had a completely Canadian accent. But in one of his classes, he made a comment that he was from Italy. The school got angry with the company for placing a non native English speaker in his class.

Good luck, I hope the best for you. I would get TESOL certified, but you might need a little more education.

Thank you for all your posts

The idea of teaching english have been put on hold for now.
This is due to a new reform the danish government has launched wich might affect my chances of being accepted at the east-asian faculty at the University of rhus or Copenhagen.

So for now I await news on the matter.

But thank you all for being kind enough to help me out here.
Your help and advice is appreciated.

Regards
Simon Smile

Just curious, but what's this reform? Sorry to hear about it, but curious about what change could affect you travelling to teach?
