I had 30 years of struggling with alcohol. Sober now - one day at a time. When in Istanbul I get to Alcoholics Anonymous meetings in Beyoglu on the "Grande Rue de Pera".
Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7 pm. Meeting is in English. Contact me for more details.

I actually drank a lot more before I came to Turkey and this godforsaken excuse for a job. I still enjoya drink but the company is what makes the difference. There are a lot of misfits in this line of work who really should not be ever introduced to alcohol, fortunately most of them work in so called "language schools" so I only stumble across them when I have occassion to visit some seedy bar in downtown Izmir.
Booze is also a great socal leveller and most of us like to get a little bit "brahms & List" and slag off our bosses/ workmates.
