Last summer it took me over an hour to get from the Angel Monument on Reforma in Mexico City to Santa Fe via bus and taxi. The neighborhoods you mention are even further from SF than that. Do any of the teachers at your school have cars? Maybe you could carpool with one of them. Otherwise there's no way they could make the commute in the time you mention.

I took the Metro from the Centro Histrico, then a micro. Took me at least an hour and a half--AND it was NOT during rush hour! That's why I said they must be commuting by helicopter.

A word of reality: If one is going to pay 6,000 pesos for an apartment (remember there will be a couple of months' deposit up front), pay for a taxi every day, and have money left over to enjoy what Mexico City has to offer, he/she needs to be NETTING at LEAST 25,000 pesos a month.

Thanks for the recommendation. I just found out that most of the teachers in the school live in the Condesa, Roma, and Lomas areas. Nobody wants to live in SF! I have found several one bedrooms for about 6000 pesos in those areas. The commute should be about 30-45 min...I get out of school at 3:30pm...that doesn't sound that bad, does it?

Now that you are here, why not share with us some opinions of Westhill? sorry I missed this thread during the summer.

Well the commute is really not that bad, about 20-30 minutes from Roma Norte if I go Const. and not Reforma. Uh, Santa Fe is ok too, the view of the city on a clear day is really pretty, and well, I am not going to say anything else on a public forum because I was taught that if you don't have anything nice to say, then you shouldn't say anything at all..........

Shocked We'll take that as a warning.

You must have a car? I get sent out to Santa Fe sometimes. From the Angel, it's at least an hour.
