They're being dirty about this. You complete your contracted time with the company and your completion bonus is yours. I recommend consulting with the General Union and deciding whether joining them would be advantageous at this point.
Another thing you might want to consider. They aren't living up to their part of the bargain on completion as per written in your contract, right?
Asking them for written confirmation again that they're going to honor it if you stick it out seems like a waste because they've established they waffle. What's to keep them from waffling again at the very end and bilking you out of it.
How much are we talking about here bonus wise? 100,000 or so? Not worth it if its that. I could understand if we're talking 300,000 or more... |

Hey, thanks for the info. They have it written in our contracts that we must give three months notice, but of course, my contract will complete. I managed to negotiate with them that if I give them 2 months notice, they will still consider me eligible for the bonus.. but, thats obviously not hard and fast. They would not put a guarantee in writing, and I guess thats fair.
On the other hand, if I stay the two months and dont receive it, I will take action on other legal matters. |

| I agree with the other posters. They got exactly one year notice of your leaving. When the contract ends the contract ends. What is the point of having an ending date to the contract if you have to give notice to end the contract that is ending anyway?!? You have all the logic on your side, You are 100% in the right but of course it is a lot of hassle to fight it out with them. I think if they don't listen to reason then they leave you no option but to play hardball as best you can. |

Yeah, it was always a wierd clause. I called them on it though, and they seem to be willing to work with me. It was really wierd timing to have to quit around the same time that the bonus would be payed out.
Thanks for the support. |
