Are you Asian? Oriental to be specific?
I share your anger. She was just trying to save face by not saying that the school wanted a WHITE person. I had that kind of e-mail too. I wrote back "I AM a native speaker" and never heard back from them again. |
I'm Indian-Irish-Portugese Canadian, though I look Indian. The recruiter actually did respond to me saying she will "call me tommorow" after she spoke to the school. I told her that would be alright, as the chance of her calling me are little to none. On a brighter note, I've got a position in Beijing for the summer. I'm off by train to Beijing tonight. I'm looking forward to it as I've never "experienced" Beijing. I asked the school what their hiring policy was before wasting time. She told me as long as I was a native speaker and could do my job that I was in. She said that the issue is, many Chinese people aren't very well travelled and have a very closed opinion on what they believe to be true. I totally agree with her.
Thanks for all the PM's guys !!
You helped me a great deal!! |
