Believe it! I've seen it firsthand and before I even set foot in Japan. I've lived in Cairns and the Gold Coast, both with huge Japanese populations and lets say when it's ten past three in the morning and nothing else matters, well........
It is an actual fact that customs at the Cairns airport have a list of Japanese women who are to be sent home on arrival. For abuse of the visa system, they are basically visa hunters. |

I'm not quite sure what you're getting at...could you please explain what you mean by the "ten past three..." statement?
Also, when you say visa hunter, do you mean they queue up in Australia just to marry someone and gain AUS citizenship? |

Well if your still out drinking at ten past three in the morning and full of liquor and hormone no local girl is going to look at you so, well then there is always the lovely Japanese beauty.
Yes there is a number of women reconised by the Australian customs that seek to marry an Australian simply for a visa. Australia has not made it not so easy for all Japanese to gain a visa.
A female friend of mine confirmed this to me, the topic came up over dinner with a femal friend who works for Australian customs. She also imformed me that she would have to report a friends girlfriend as the particular girl had asked that next time she flew into Australia if she could be hushed through customs. Unfortunately for the girl, she had asked my friend to marry her who politely rejected seeing that he had picked her up for a one night stand at the city bus stop.
She became very aggresive and threw a beer bottle through the window, but this was a girl who cracked the neck of a VB for breakfast. |

d3773- the gender thing happens a lot... while more and more women are coming to Japan the majority are still young white males fresh out of university.
It's funny that someone posted the bit about the Japanese women are so easy. However, as a women, be prepared for things to be a little less ideal. Not saying you won't find anyone, but I've found it much harder to find men to date here. Not sure how important this would be to you, but it is something to consider. Gong through a long dry spell is never good on anyone's ego.
Regarding your original question, yes you will be able to save money, go out drinking every once in a while, take trips, etc. Of course how much depends on your job and your personal spending habits. With your qualifications you won't have trouble landing a job. Landing a good job takes a bit of luck and connections though. |
