Man, guys, I really have no idea what to do. I've got horrendous luck when it comes to these kind of things. I don't want to risk getting f.u.c.k.e.d by the check-in agent and getting stranded in Miami. I don't have the money to buy a fake ticket. Honestly, this is such BS. There shouldn't be laws about needing return tickets because you might be traveling around South America.
Not really sure what to do. Where do you buy these fully refundable tickets from BA to Montevideo? |

are the one-way tickets less expensive...? when i was researching my airfare, all the one-way tickets i could find were just about the same price as round trip (some even more expensive). even if you don't use the other leg of your trip, if the price is the sameish, that's no different than buying a one-way... |

All the one-way tickets I am finding are about half the price of round trip tickets. |

I got in on a one way, no problem. I don`t think that you have to worry about. The State Dept. has a website that tells you what you need to get in to each country, and you don`t need much to get in down here. |

the student websites have one-ways that are about 1/2 the price of the round-trips.
i decided to buy a round-trip ticket with a transferable date. it costs $150 to change the date. that way, i have a way out if things fall apart. |

Very, very, very sensible.
The place is like marmite, you'll either love it or you'll hate it.
150 dollars for the insurance of a quick getaway if it
all goes backside up. I think thats top notch value!
especially if you have never been before then I reckon
you have done the right thing in spending a few extra quid
in opening up all your options to your advantage.

Sure, why did you leave Buenos Aires? You're back in the UK, right? When are you coming back to BsAs? |

I only came for 5 weeks to see some friends...
you can only eat so much fideos!!! it will be awhile
before I go back...
I think you are in for a great experience, Argentina
is going through some turblent times at this moment
so be prepared for drum banging, megaphone singing
'piquerteros' led by people like Luis Castells and the
committee of the late Anibal Veron movement, be prepared
for the casual racism about these people from the more well
heeled portenos.
The traffic... oh my God!
The beautiful people... oh my God!
The Once-Peru-Castro Barros subte line (the blue line)
... Oh my God!
Maradona and his second goal against England on the
tv (along with florencita and Media Falta) every bloody day...
oh.. and I forgot about sin bloody codigo!
Oh My God
It is like a lot of places, you have to leave PC sensibilities
at home... it was even a shock for me and I'm half South
American.. |

I'm from the States, and I've even tried marmite, thanks to a Canada-loving American ex-boyfriend. Hated it!!!
I'm excited to come to Argentina soon. I'm from NYC originally, so I'll probably want to get out of huge, crazy BA and settle in Rosario/Mendoza/Cordoba or some other smallish city. Anyone out there living in any of these parts now? |
