my apologies to you, yamahu, for that misidentification.
But it is still puzzling me how your "employer" could be FIRED.

My biggest mistake was not getting the original amendment written into the contract.

That's right. If it's not in the contract, then you are SOL.

This is more in depth than I was intending to go when I posted the OP.
However to make a long story short (if it's possible) many of you who have replied to my threads have probably been aware of our 'strange'; situation here in Guangxi.

We were hired by a S.African woman who was in turn employed by the owners of the company here in Guigang. Around January there was a power struggle for ownership of the company and one of the partners was bought out, overthrown, booted out whatever you want to call it.
Meanwhile our S.African boss and her (possibly psychologically deranged) 'expert teacher' were busy doing SFA and leaving all the teaching to me and my wife. The 'expert teacher' apparently had 14 years of TESL experience under his belt but was developing a staggeringly poor reputation with his students and Chinese teachers; this resulted in him being effectively relieved of his duties and in me acquiring all his disgruntled students.
Oh joy!
At this time the owner (who I'll call Jean) tried to fire him for gross incompetence or some similar infraction; our boss (who I'll call Griselda...because it suits well) went to bat for him and refused to allow him to be fired. She actually wadded the letter addressed to him into a ball and threw it at Jean's head...talk about a loss of face for our boss!
The owner backed down and so was, for all intents and purposes. paying two completely useless, demanding, arrogant ass wipes who treated her like crap and gave nothing in return.
Meanwhile my wife and I were teaching 20 classes each per week!!

Griselda decided to go home for vacation to S.Africa and while she was gone Jean fired the 'expert teacher' and had the PSB make sure he left...those suspected psychological problems made her nervous.

Next on Jean's list was a legally drawn up letter to Griselda who was sunning herself in S.Africa and no doubt treating the hired help like she treated everyone else i.e like dirt. The letter notified her of the termination of her contract and informed her that she would not be welcomed back to the company.

That's it in a nutshell

Don't ask me for more specifics, why's and wherefores, than that because I wasn't privy to them. I can tell you that I was happy as HELL to see the back of those two assholes though.

It's been one of those Grateful Dead experiences...A long STRANGE trip!!
