Excuse me?
Are you sure your last name is not Pinker?
Have his theories been as scientifically proven as the earth rotating around the sun?
At a gut level most of it felt wrong. Sorry I can't be more specific than that but I left his book behind a few years ago and he doesn't interest me. If I were writing a thesis about it then perhaps your attack would make a little more sense though it would hardly be justified. I certainly do not need to defend my opinions to a stranger on the internet.
If you like him, great but I have to wonder why you defend him so vehemently and why you need to name call others who have different opinions. Galileo or Newton he is not. |

MOD EDIT
I am afraid that if you state "Well I can't remember the book title, and I don't really know what theories I am talking about, but I disagree" then it is not unreasonable to ask you either to give more details or come over as a joke. |

For us who ain't be such fancy linguist types: In Pinker's The Language Instinct, he favors a decriptive approach over a prescriptive approach.
Edit:to grammer(s). or I guess maybe to linguistics altogether. Try this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prescriptive_grammar |
