I must say, I hold a Polish Passport, though I wasn't born here.
Also, you need a KZIEGOWA or Accountant. You can usually find one if you ask your friends...or workmates. You shouldn't pay more than 100zl per month.
The trouble with all this [as I see it] is that you just pay and pay and PAY....

| Khrystene, thank you kindly for the lengthy response. If what you say does in fact apply to Americans, you have explained what no one in Poznan has so far been able to put forth. One question: When do I get my NIP? When I get a Work Permit or when I get a Karta Pobytu? And why the heck to I need a school to sponsor me by promising me work? The whole point is that I'm starting MY OWN BUSINESS!! (Not that I expect you to have an answer to that last question, of course.) But again, thanks very much. |

THe reason I suggested someone sponsoring you is that it is easier when you're a foreigner than starting your own business here. That's all.
As for NIP, when I started working here a couple of years ago, the company I worked for had to pay Tax, so they registered me, so I can't tell you how to get a NIP. There's an office I'm sure where you get it. I will ask around and see if I can find out from friends.
As I said, I have Polish citizenship so I don't need a Karta Pobytu, but you will from what I understand. So it's best to start there methinks!
