My worst meal EVER: Blood soup in a korean pojangmacha. At least the live octopus stopped squirming around afer a few hours but that blood and bean sprout soup kept wanting to escape for the next 2 days. I leave the rest of the story, including its ultimate escape from my body to your imagination.

I learned to love garlic in Korea, though. And in Czech I've learned to love raw onions and smelly cheeses.

gimme a kiss.

I agree completely with thelmadatter. Oaxacan food is righteous.

I lived there last year and fell in love with mole and all its variations. Took a couple of cooking classes, too.

And I still miss plain old al pastor tacos. I went to the Mixtacos chain restaurant so often that they gave me a hat when I was about to depart. Cool folks.

India - the food is out of this world. Regional varieties from Kerala, Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, the Punjab, etc, etc. You can also get virtually anything else you want (Thai, Italian, etc).

The fruit and vegetables are available in the markets year round. I will miss the food there so much. Korean food is so nasty! It's like I've discovered the Germany of the Orient... pickled cabbage and pork everything! gross.

Turkish food had to be among my faves and eating out was so cheap....those were the days.
Italian food - well - pretty obvious really - even now the best pixxa I ever had was in a little place called Recanati - smoked slamon and rocket - yum.......
Food out here in the Middle East - pretty good for veggies due to the amount of Indian food that is popular. Cooking - well - there's certainly a wide variety of fruit and veg - ideas for how to actually cook them however is a different matter. Fish is also plentiful - the tuna is delicious.....
