If I can only get a 30-day visitors visa, can it be extended another 30 days in Taiwan?
Or does no one know? |
I think that the reason that no one has answered your question is that there is no definite answer to it and it is likely that if anyone stated either way then someone else would post something to contradict the post.
Strictly speaking a 30 day visitors visa should be extendable from within the country provided that it is not stamped 'Non-extendable'. Having said that I am aware of cases where teachers with these visas have been refused extensions in country, as well as cases where teachers with visas stamped 'non-extendable' were permitted to extend.
So the answer to your question is that there is no answer that you can take to the bank. I think it best to err on the side of caution and assume that a 30 day visa gives you 30 days in country. If can get an extension great, but if you can't then at least you won't be caught short. |
