Kev try a scavanger hunt . It is a good way to get them using dictonaries . The homework is a cover your Azz . You give it but don't expect it to be done . I mean it is less work for you if they don't do it . Get them outside and play some running dictation .

Try not to focus on the result of having them behave. When they disobey, work with that. When you raise your voice, see how they react and then work with that again. When they aren't saying much, work with that. etc...

Easier said than done.
