I actually don't find using the supermarket to meet people all that unusual. In Washington DC in the 70's/80's, there was a Safeway in Georgetown that was known as the 'social Safeway.' It was THE alternative for those who didn't like the bar scene.

Wasn't in my area, so I never tested it out.

^so online shopping will never replace the Saturday morning trip to the supermarket. Speaking of which, Migros(Turkish chain) beckons.

So just out of curiosity, what is the male/female ratio here in Qatar. I'm beginning to think it's 10 single women to every 1 single man, but I'm not positive.

My gosh -- what are you looking at? This country appears to be swamped by single men. There are some single women, but, in my humble opinion, there are not many worth looking at.

Every guy I talk to has a girlfriend or wife. And every single guy I meet has a string of Phillipino or Thai girlfriend's. A new one each week. A good girl like me doesn't have a chance. I went to Rydges on the weekend and it seemed like I was the only girl there, but none of the guys were even remotely interested in talking to me and one guy was openly hostile.

I don't think I'm that bad looking and I don't dress like a 10$ hooker or anything, it's strange. I've never had this problem before.

I read this quote somewhere

Being in a relationship is like a castle under siege those who are on the outside want to get in, and those who are inside want to get out

How ever so true Laughing

That's good! That means you're not hitting any of the rejects.

That's precisely why you're having problems...most men will choose a Filipina or Thai over a Western women every time...

The exotic is erotic.

But I do not agree that "most men will choose a Filipina or Thai over a Western women every time...".

I think that one's about as valid as "All the good men are either married or gay".
