My browser doesn't give me any "vote" option on this poll. I'm back home in a tenured ESL position with full benefits. I still have lots of connections in China through friends, as well as with my current job. I mainly drop in here on weekends.

Wow! That's great! May I ask where you teach?

I'm applying for a job in the US now as an Asian Media specialist, since my MA was in film studies, and I just have an ESL certificate. Wish me luck!

The trick was I'm a certified teacher and was on unpaid leave in China, where I retrained in ESL by distance education. Once home, I looked around and found a good high school ESL job close to home: a 7 year position, which is my projected retirement [at least from full time work] date.
I'm in Australia now, but China gave me a lot of opportunities to change direction.

I'm back in Australia now. I obtained my school teaching qualifications when I returned and am now teaching in a primary school. I still come back to this site however as I definitely intend to return overseas one day.' however probably working for an international school, rather than ESL teaching.
