when it's common habit to construct buildings in a certain way that makes them dangerous to everyone around them, i think that's a pretty legitimate time to say "i wish this were different." i don't have a problem seeing things i don't like about a place and still accepting the place overall as somewhere i might live. there are plenty of things that bug me in the US and i still like the place. i also don't see why wishing things were better in mexico means i should go home. the people who build multi-floor apartment buildings are not broke--they are cheap. too cheap to install readily available windows of decent quality, which i'm sure they can afford, in order to spare someone from being mutilated by falling glass. what about mexicans who are bothered by that, should they leave the country too?

your posts are really bipolar--some demanding that everyone be accountable for everything that happens to them and the next pleading on behalf of defectiveness in the name of cultural sensitivity. i'm curious which you really believe in.
