I agree rents are high but I was always told that its hard to get enough hours and too many teachers (everybody wants to live on the coast)chasing to few jobs was pushing wages down.
Just meet 3 Americans doing their tefl at ttmadrid and since they are friends they are sharing an apartment, so 850 furnished by 3 300 so not too bad.
Anyways I happen to be in Madrid becuase my wife got transferred there, so it makes sense to work here  |

Moore is spot-on, although you can get much cheaper air fares from fat Stelios if you book early.
Those looking for summer employment might consider teaching in summer schools in July and August. Provided you can tolerate classes of 20+ Spanish children (shouldn't be too difficult), summer school work can be a pleasant change from that brown pollution bubble that covers Madrid. |
