Taking a job from overseas is a dangerous and often costly experience on Taiwan.
You need to be in Taiwan to find a good job. At the same time the vast majority of teachers that break their contracts and flee their employers ( at great cost for students, teachers and schools) were hired from overseas to teach on Taiwan.
Please read this,
10 Steps to Success on Taiwan!
Good luck!

If you're a first time teacher and its your first time abroad, then the security of securing a job before you get here is going to reduce the stress of the whole move.
However, as you have done both before, then its true that the better jobs are really only going to be found if you are here. The best jobs are found by word of mouth, through both foreign and Chinese contacts in the area that you are living. The jobs are so good they don't need to advertise, teachers who are leaving will normally recommend a friend to fill the position. So come here and make a lot of friends! |
