The team thing seemed to work for me in Thailand where I had an outta control class - I picked their names at random although I ensured the naughty kids were split up, then each team got 4 stars at the start of the lesson. If they won a game they got more, but if their behaviour was bad they lost one.....There was usually peer pressure to stop them going too far as the teams were mixed boys/girls - the girls kept the boys in line in this class. If they lost all stars then they could not participate in the next game they had to watch, if they tried to join in the game got stopped for the whole class who would then probably kill them!!! I only had to stop them playing a game one time, they never got that bad again once I showed them the threat was really there! The winning team at the end of each lesson got stickers or something.....
If kids get their wangs out try and ignore it as much as possible they are often doing it for attention - when kids tried it at my kindy in China I just ignored it they soon stopped - if the Chinese teacher saw she would tell them off and they just did it more!!! Its hard to do but keep going as if nothing has happened - hopefully this will work for you too. Good luck! |
