I got tired of living in the lowlands, send out CV and applications to every single school that needed a German teacher and for somehow there were quite a few job openings in Turkey. Then I got a nice job and now I am here. |

I came because my prison term was coming to an end and I had to leave the country pronto. Turkey was the first offer and they don't check records. |

I came here to learn how to toss my belly like a gypsy to a 9/8 rhythm. |

Were you successful?
My dad slipped a disk in his back attempting to belly dance once when we were on holiday in Turkey. He spent the rest of the two weeks in hospital and when not there, lying face down on his hotel room bed Poor pops |

I came to Turkey to be the very first director of English Time. My plan was to stay 2 years and go somewhere else, but I am still here almost 9 years later. Like most other people I was very ignorant of what Istanbul and Turkey were like, but I have learned a lot! Over these years I have had over 80 visitors, so a lot more people have learned what a great place this is. I am here for the long haul, as I really like it. Every day is an adventure, small or big, and the dynamism of Istanbul, particularly Beyoglu, is great. |

I came here 14 years ago as a part of my grand Eur tur, meet the first of a few good friends, got offered a job as a ''dog's body'' for the W.S.J and started traverling right around the country. The pay was ok but the life style was great.
Then meet my wife.. got married, brought house.. brought car and now a have the little kid as well.....
I came here to get away from the run of the mill middle class life that all my frinds were head for back home...End up living the same sort of middle class life here ...
My chances of going back for good are next to none... |
