One thing about dmb... his posts never cease to amuse.

I'm with Qatarchic... the idea of a honeymoon in Doha made me laugh out loud...

BD Which commercial was that? Confused

It was either more Asian Games self-edification or Qatar Airways, which amounts to the same thing. I just remember a bunch of quaint Arab types flitting around inside the old souk. It was either on CNN or Al-Jazeera.

Really, I thought only the Chinese who sleep twelve or more to a room without air conditioning.
I thought Qatar was more liberal, and life more entertaining!!
So, it seems similar to Saudi Arabia!!

Discuss.

Oh, poor Dmb, why going to Doha, where you will see 'Chinese' who sleep twelve or more to a room without air conditioning.
Why not try the island of Farasan in the red sea in SA.
I can borrow you my Dhow (shown below), so that you can go and visit Farasan island, and enjoy your honeymoon there. Better than going to Doha Laughing .

Thanks for the offer 007, but I'm actually getting married on a boat on the Bosphorous....so I may be put off boats for life Wink
Glad I kept you girls amused but to get back on topic what is Doha like during the games. Has it made a blind bit of difference?

I was reading an article yesterday about the proposed takeover of Liverpool FC by a cosortium led by the UAE PM. In the article it mentions he wants to hold the Olympics and the world cup in the UAE. Fanciful? Did people say the same about the Asian games in Doha when the idea was doing the rounds?

I've only left the house three times since the games began, so they haven't affected me much.

Liverpool F.C. v Arsenal F.C.
To be played at Anfield on Saturday 6 January 2007 Kick off time 5.15pm
What do you think Dmb, who will win? Any guess?

BTW, Dmb, What happened to the Celtic team in Denmark?
FC Copenhagen 3-1 Celtic
I think, Celtic's travel sickness in the Champions League continued with an inept performance in Denmark Laughing

No Qatarchic, it isn't going to happen. However, do any of the hotels offer a honeymoon suite? If so, say for example the Marriot, my old local, if you ordered a bottle of Champers to your room between 4.30 and 8.30 would you pay full price or happy hour price?
