Anyone try Rosetta Stone? Impressions?

Never tried that but I can give a good word for Pimsleur. I've never done the Japanese one but i've done some of the Chinese one and it was great preperation for my trip to Beijing this summer. Has anyone evr done whole of a pimsleur course?

Cheers for the advice, a mate of mine does all that for me as I haven't got a computer at home. I'll ask him to take a look.

If you're on JET then you get to study Japanese by likely living in an area with zero other English speakers. Speak Japanese or don't speak at all (or at least don't speak and expect to be understood in the least).

Self study combined with living in Japanese will increase your Japanese a lot.

Get copies of the Genki series.
