They never made it clear that they had no problems with you not having office hours that way, if you got out of line in their view, they could always use that aginst you latr on, and claim they never said you could not be in your office.

Your contract is indeed no good, and they do not have to honor it. As for going and reporting this school, is there not a fine for working here illegally?

Now, your being a doormat about the rest. As far as getting what you are owed, play some good old american hardball. Yeah, this is china, and they don't know how to deal with an american, or any foreigner, who plays hard ball.

Refuse to move, and intimate that it will be very bad for anyone who tries to make you leave. Do not threaten, just subtly imply. I had a school do something similiar to me, and they paid me everything they owed me in the end.

People will only take advantage of you if you let them. Don't move, they can't make you. They can, but that would mean getting the authorities involved, and they have to pay a fine for employing you illegally, they would have to explain why you are living there after all. They are in a shady grey area just as much as you are.

They have done this to others, and count on your feeling insecure and frightened, don't be. Oh, they can stomp their feet, just stomp yours harder, and don't be intimidated. To get you out of that apartment they will pay you all they owe you and then some, trust me.

Just be reasonable, explain your position, and play hardball, it's that simple. Explain to them how dishonest they were, how misleading, then get into the contract, what they owe you, and how, legal or not, they knew your status, and agreed to the terms anyway, so they owe you. Use what leverage you have, and refuse to move until they pay you. Oh, they will bang on the door, pretend not to be home. They will call on the phone, just take it off the hook. Eventually they will become desperate, and pay you It will take weeks, but really, if you leave before yuo are able, and without being payed what they owe you, that would be foolish.

Stay, get your money, they will pay it. You see, they have another sap who they wish to bring in, take advantage of, and he will be living there. However, without you gone, they can't bring him in. If they cant bring him in, they dont get paid. In reality, they will be saving money by paying you what they owe you to get you out of there.

Just don't be afraid. They count on yuor being scared and unsure of yourself, and they use that. Put yourself in their shoes though, and you'll see that their position is just as tenuous, and that if you play hard ball, it will end up being in their best interests to pay you. Use reason whenever yuo talk to them to define why yuo are doing what you are, point by point, and be nice, until they become not so nice. It will work, trust me, just eb firm, unbending, and nice, nutil it's time not to be, and you'l know when that is, trust me. Well, take care.

Andrew please, stop sending me bitter pill emails, takes away from any credibility you have, as does following everything single post I make and posting some denegrating remarks, how old are you? If your very old then your continueing bitter pill PM's to me and heckling are very immature.

Just get over the fact that I saw through your earlier BS from your PM's to me, and move on, you'll be a lot happier, trust me . I still hope we can be friends, I am sure you are a nice fellow when your not very angry over such little things. You have my apology for whatever offense was percieved by you.
