I agree with naturegirl, our program was 150 hour and we were supposed to get the certification from Canada TESL as well but then we found out we needed a degree for that. So we have the TEFL and took the extra hours including practicum and our course was cheap comparitively.
It's the exact course taught at other institutions in Vancouver for more money. I am tired of hearing that the cheaper course must be the worst one.
The school we took the course at was very old and fairly run down which may account for the difference in cost - but the instructors were very professional and did an excellent job. The course is Canada TESL certified as well.
So, don't worry about the cost as much as the quality of the course, it may help to talk to other grads and find out what they are doing now. Our school also put us in touch with others who had taken the course before us - if they aren't willing to do this, then I would question the course. You may also have to pay more if they offer job placement. |
