| And by the way ' a boyfriend' is what you have when you are 15. Adults have 'partners, 'lovers' or something with a more grown-up label. |

Now there is the real problem Scot47... there isn't really a good term for them at our age. If you say 'partner' - everyone assume that you mean same sex. 'Lover' sounds overly graphic and rather demeaning to a well rounded relationship. Then there is 'significant other' which sounds rather silly and PC. I have ended up using the word 'friend' which rather understates things, but seems to me to describe the most important part of any relationship.

| I have solved this dilemma of word choice. I'm just going to marry the mrs/her indoors..... Then I will just have trouble. |

So, VS, what about the relationship between people, dogs, and cats? Can we say also that people are partners or friends with dogs and cats?
For example, dogs are the best friend and partners to the disabled and blind people.
I think dogs make good friends and partners and most people find them easy to live and get a long with, probably better than human being! .
That is why you always see a cat in the kitchen at a woman's feet.
BTW, Vs, I invite you to read the story about: A Cat and Her Strong Friend the Woman. http://www.africawithin.com/tour/ghana/a_cat_friends.htm
I hope you will enjoy the story. |

You don't say...I'd never noted this myself, but my own partner/friend (though not lover) is a dog. This is why you always see a dog in the kitchen at a man's feet. |
