Toe Save, it was only germane (wasn't he in the Jacksons?) since you mentioned how you make so much and work so little. Hence I wanted to clarify as I know teaching kids tends to pay more. Keep saving your toes!
Aristotle, I thought you were dead or something. This has to be the longest it has ever taken you to post on this sort of thread.
Something I've always wanted to ask you, my ancient Greek friend, do you teach for a living in Taiwan?
Remember, you can't step in the same betel nut spit twice. Wait, that was Heraclitus . . .

I think you could do a lot worse than work at WSI. I did for a couple of years so I can offer my two cent's worth.
pros;
-it's easy once you get the hang of it, which takes about a week or so
-guaranteed hours
-highly motivated (mostly), mature (mostly) students
-in social clubs, which you do 2 or 3 times a week, you have free reign to do whatever you want
cons;
- it does get quite repetative.
- in many ways, it's a sales job, but as long as you're comfortable with it, it's ok.
The pay when I was there was about NT$62 000/month. Most of the other teachers that I worked with came from the other big chain schools like David's, Global Village, Berlitz, and Kojen and were of the opinion that all around, WSI is the best to work for.
Sure, it's not NTU, but it beats the hell out of HESS. Good luck and if you have any questions feel free to PM me. |

Thanks, Hsinchu Guy!
After all this (the thread) they never even got back to me (and their ad is very clear about not bothering them after applying). Perhaps it is because I am not currently in Taiwan. Dunno.
Thanks everyone! |

Just do a walk in man. If they are hiring, they will prolly see you.
EDIT: And it does look like they are hiring. |

That explains it then. They only hired from within the country when I was working for them. |
