We still get housewives, JHS, HS, and uni students, but yes the bulk of students are business people. You can also teach kids, but you can avoid that if your branch doesn't have many kids lessons ( hence not much need for kids' teachers).
The lessons themselves are preplanned, but only in the sense that you have a text. How you use the text and what you supplement it with will depend on the student's needs (and your discretion). Of course some students want only the text taught, but that type of student is not that common.
Another possible and larger problem in my opinion is students who want to move through texts quicker than is useful or warranted for their learning level, but that's something you encounter anywhere, even at universities where the course designations sometimes have no bearing on the content level that students can manage. This can also be caused by government programs that reimburse students for language study, but only if they finish a set amount of material in a set number of lessons. |
