Sorry, as someone who actually works in the international school arena I know for a fact they do provide insurance for dependents. Also, most schools also offer free (or subsidized) tuition for children as I said before. These are contractual benefits provided to all of the teachers of the school, and therefore the school is obligated to provide them to whoever they hire. However, most schools try to cut costs by hiring teachers who won't need those benefits. Again, I'm not saying its fair, but that is how they do business.
You need to keep in mind that international schools share the same potential employee pool as the public schools back home. If they don't provide comparable benefits (salary, insurance, tuition) they would not be able to attract experienced certified teachers. |
