On a more positive note, FGT has reported that one of his pals will have a Turkish pension (god willing) ...

We need more of these heart warming 'slippers and pipe' stories ..

"thrifty" is fat???? Shocked

I've always pictured him as skinny and sallow, with a wispy moustache and a twinkle in his eye.

A misanthropic eccentric, who prefers the company of cats to humans.

Prone to mumbling and repeating itself.

Eccentric, and bizarre ritualistic habits.

Becomes less flexible with age, and loses appetite for new things.

A general dim view of the world and mankind in general.

Pessimistic and negative in nature.

Ghost

they don't. Penny Ure, in one of her introductions explains why she always uses the pronouns she and her in her books- Most of the teachers she has met are female. I have always found the opposite though.

We certainly wouldn't want to deny you girls such grim prospects ...

I've met several stage 5 and 6 women both here and in Turkey ... though in fairness to some of them, I think they were already at stage 6 when they started out ...

I've also met a few who would help in the description of a stage 8 ...

Stage 8??? it's a bit like hearing there are now 8 intelligences.

Sheikh, I think you should show support to the EFL community and tell us the 8 stages of an EFL teacher.

From 'Memories extracted by electrolysis from the mind of a TEFLer'

Quote:
Were a week a lifetime in TEFLing

The Seven Stages of TEFLing

Monday's TEFLer is filled with awe,
While Tuesday's feels reality knaw,

With Wednesday TEFLers recovery plan,
Thursday's TEFLer earns as much as he can,

As Friday's TEFLer digs into a hole,
So Saturday's must live like a mole,

And the mole that reaches the Sabbath day,
Is not human in any recognizable way.
