The two western women I knew in Korea had few problems finding Korean boyfriends. But then, the two gals were quite good looking, not tall, fit, etc.

Those two gals aren't typical of the kind of western women who wind up in Korea. With the exception of a couple Russian women I met in Seoul most of the Western looking gals were seriously overweight. In any case even an attractive woman, though she has options probably wont last too long in Korea because she doesn't have a society that has bought into feminism to fall back on.

I'll keep it simple.

The food in Korea in my opinion is fab. I prefer Thai food hands down, but Korean food is very tasty once you get used to it (took me about a month and then it was like - wow, this is good)

You will not be bored living in Seoul or one of it's close sattelite cities such as Ilsan, Hanam, Bundang, Anyang etc.... There is tons to do and you'll easilly make a lot of western friends as long as you're a sociable couple.

If two of you shared accomodation and were frugal you could save a combined ammount of between 6,000 - 8,000 US dollars in only six months if you wanted to. This would be each of you saving between 1million Won (half your salary) - 1.2 million Won a month. This is not difficult to do.

So to sum up, you could come to Korea - all visa fees and airfare paid. Hand in a months notice at month five or preferably six (this is essential if you don't want to pay your flight money back - oh and avoid contracts with penatly clauses, there are plenty decent ones out there...) and then get flights to thailand and live there comfortably with the money saved in Korea...

Of course if you found you liked Korea, you could stay the whole year and save double that. It is easy to do. Then go to Thailand and have money in case anything goes wrong.

Going to Thailand first without decent money behind you could be a bad idea as you'll be less comfortable and flexible financially if anything turns sour....

I've just deleted two off-topic postings.

Let's get back on topic.

Quickly.
