Anyway, Molly whatever you do now good luck!

Now that you've got some spare time, buy a bass guitar and a copy of "Pet Sounds" and I'll speak you in a month.

Got to love the net. Here I am miles and miles away and I still can keep up with the news.

E.T may have lost Molly....But I hope Turkey has not...No matter how much we have all disagreed at times. Molly is a key asset to the sector in Turkey.....Good luck to you..

What about David, the DoS from Interlang? Don't you think he would be next in line for the position? After all, before the two schools merged he was the Education Manager there. That would seem the most logical and fair.

Not a position he wanted to take I'm sure. He, like Molly, had been demoted to Head Teacher, and to be sent to Kadiky at that.... I'm sure he's not a happy camper.

Why is she a key asset?

Do you think the sector gives a toss?

Molly was NOT demoted! Stupidly, the powers that be at ET decided it was best not to have Directors of Ed. (that includes David, he also was NOT demoted) anymore cos that way there won't be anyone to blame when things go bad - that was the reasoning head teachers were given. She was simply asked to reorganise the Interlang taksim branch, therefore, be the head teacher there for a time, so as it would become another ET - taksim 2 branch. Sadly, the powers that be dont appreciate their staff even after 9 years of service, and made life so unsatisfying for her that I guess Molly felt it was better to quit. Good luck to her. Hopefully ET upper management will begin to think more carefully about their staff members and treat them better so they dont lose anymore good teachers or head teachers. Molly sometimes had problems but for the most part for 9 years she was a loyal and great staff member. It's truly a sad day when staff are treated like this. Mind you, we are all being treated like this, and inshallah itll change soon!

Hmm.. for the most part.. it seems the norm to treat staff like crap and push em around. I wonder why it is this way. It is an interesting management practice here and I wonder it if is just to let everyone know that they really aren't that important in the grand scheme of things.. If Molly was that loyal for so long, she is really a rare breed to be able to put up with this type of crap. Most of us can only handle so much belittling, pushing, etc...

You've hit the nail right on the head.

Molly's tolerance for such an unprofessional organisation was truly amazing.

ET is shameless in the manner in which it uses their staff. And as badly as they treat Native Eng. teachers, they treat their Turkish staff much worse.

I am not defending Molly.

But I witnessed her on enough occassions standing up for teachers and chastising management. She didn't always win her battles, but she stood up for you, if you were on the side of right.

I remember when the Taksim 1 Branch acquired some new management; two idiots who had come over from Kadikoy. In the space of one week, she went down to the Manager's/Head Teacher's office to champion the cause of three different teachers. All three were basically being screwed money wise.

By the time she had done it the third time, the third teacher got a text message, saying that all teachers shouldn't go running to Molly, "she doesn't control things anymore, we do." It was shameless. But this was the kind of management they were.

In the last two years, I've heard numerous complaints from teacher about Molly. Has she become a "tool?" I don't know, but certainly not in my time there.
