As what I've been telling my friends who are still in the job in Indonesia, if you can't beat them, then join them...if not, finish your contract and look for another school...if still not, then just be aptient and continue doing the best you can.
This is what i did when I was still there and I took it as a good teaching experience and used it as a spring board to a better job and position I am in at the moment. And it did work,a fter all!!! |

There are also the complaints about the salary paid....

I can't say I've come across many such complaints here. People usually know what the salary is when they take the job on so to complain about it later seems a little odd.

One reason why some people complain about their salary (even if they signed the contract that clearly states the amount of what theyre going to get) is when they found out later that a fellow teacher, who doesnt have much responsibilites and work on a lesser load gets double of what they are getting. Too late to complain..... |

Dues have been paid and things are good. I worked up the ladder in several countries and moved away from the mind-numbing drudgery of the language courses.
I don't remember ever complaining as much as some of the over-sensitive souls on here. And I certainly never expected to have what I now have without putting in the hours and making some sacrifices.
Take away the traffic and the occasional flood and life is pretty good - if it wasn't, I wouldn't be here.

i agree with TP. i have paid my dues and have a great job. the salary is good and the holidays are fantastic. my students are great and i enjoy the time i spend with them. could do without the office politics, but no job is perfect. and i like living here. when i dont like it anymore, u will see my posting on a different thread after i move to another country. |
