Please tell me more about it if you have any experience with online ESL teaching.

So... no one else?

I have had some experience with online ESL teaching. I did online ESL for about 1 year. I really enjoyed the experience but it is not for everyone. I was not looking to make a living, just extra money at a job that allowed me the freedom to take 3 weeks holiday when I felt like it and set my own hours. The job itself was not stressful and on the whole I found the students enthusiastic about learning. There was no lesson planning involved and if a student canceled within 6 hours of the class or didn't show up, I was still paid. I was always paid on time and I had no problems with the company, they were always very helpful and supportive.
If someone is interested in teaching online, make sure you look at all of the rules and regulations that the company has. For example, I know of one company who charges the teacher if they are unable to keep a class due to sickness or internet problems.
MELEE points out that she could make more $$ teaching private students which might be true, but where I worked, I didn't have to find students to teach (there were always plenty signing up for my classes), I didn't have to supply material or make photocopies, no travel to the student's house, no worry about if the student didn't show up to the class and because there was no webcam, I had the option of teaching in my pyjamas with bedhead--of course, I never did the latter, but some might view this as a job perk.

I'm working from Toronto, part-time. And the wages are $20 bucks an hour. Good money, but the job can be challenging. Definitely look around as the hours are nice and the trip to work is very short!
