Not very well actually. Because I work at a secondary school, they said that the budget is fixed until December. HOwever, they might be able to help out with my Master payments.

I personally believe that they have money in the budget. One teacher up and quit and he was getting 1.5 times what I'm getting, his replacement is getting the same salary as me, so they have leftover money.

Personally, I'd walk. But, as I mentioned above, I don't think I'd ask for a raise without plans to walk if they didn't give it to me.

I actually tried the same (asking for a raise) but it didn't work out- 'we don't have enough money' was the excuse, which was a lie as they were making lots of money. I ended up applying for another job which paid 40% more than my then current salary. There are always better offers out there....but don't leave unless you have another job lined up.
