| That's why tailors are so good here. Also, the Beyolğu İş Merkezi off İstiklal is really good for clothing. Akmar pasajı and Atlas pasajı are really good, too. |

for 50 US you can get Doner sandwich, a can of Efes extra, a packet of Maltepe cigarettes and a hand-job from a man dressed as a lady and still have enough change to get the last ferry back to skdar.
Now that's what I call a value night out |
DISGUSTING! |
I know, I normally smoke Winstons, but Maltepe are only 2 lira. |

Shouldn't women get equal pay as men for the same job? Why does a male sex worker get dressed as a woman if he gets paid less than his counterparts. Another question is how do you break down the $50? How much does a doner sandwich cost? How much is a packet of Maltepe cigarettes? How much is a hand-job from a man dressed as a woman or from a woman dressed as a man? |

Never mind the bollocks! Purely and simply it is expensive here. It aint Thailand and the shemales arent nearly as attractive unless you prefer yours with 5 oclock shadow and adams apples that can cut glass .
If your looking to live and work in a country and live according to a reasonable standard this aint the country for it. That being said living here does have its compensations. |

Batukhan, l don't agree with you. I think you can live here quite well on a teacher's salary. However, if you eat out all the time and go out for drinks a few times a week, then you are going to have problems. Istanbul is as expensive as you want to make it.
It might be interesting to look at wages and costs of living in other popular European countries and compare. I know that wages in Russia are a joke, and Moscow is stupidly expensive. |

| You could live on lentils, potatoes, water and dner for a month. You would have to walk to work. Actually, there is a great little place in Kadikoy that does five for five. It includes a meat/chicken/fish dish, rice, salad, dessert and a drink. |
Where would that be? I've been relying on Dadas by Rithim caddesi for cheap staples (2 lira) when necessary. |

If you walk up the street that becomes Moda caddesi from the balık pazaar, it's on your right hand side just before the road forks. |
