I often wondered, where would a she-male stand in KSA (if that's the right verb to use)?

Judging from quite a number of postings in this forum over the years, one thing they never test for is dysentery!

hey again. why wouldnt i ever make it to saudi arabia? I am currently teaching english in an asian country and havent had any problems thus far. I have been here for a little more than a year.

Mr/Ms Inkazak, before I answer your questions, could you please tell me if you feel like a man or a woman? Also do you experience any type of 'Gender Identity Disorder'?

yeah i have already been through the required therapy and so on. Have been on hormones for around three years. I present 100 percent as male, and my gender has never been qestioned b the people around me. They just understand that i am a guy.

I didnt have any problems getting here and my passport reflects my identity as male.

thanks !

and she-male is not really the right term to use. She-male is a derrogatory/porn name. I would find it unlikely that you find a person who identifies as a she-male. Most people who have GID just take steps to correct the problem and live as the gender they feel is most accurate. If you just met me on the street you would have no idea that I wasn't born with all the male parts.

So in order to avoid being locked up by the mutawaa we now need to carefully examine the lower parts of any purported male we could find ourselves missing with socially. I can think of more than a few fellow expats who would lend themselves to that task willingly :)

I wonder if there has been a fatwa regarding this. Some years back the Spanish Supreme Court pronounced against changes in the sex on DNIs on the grounds "that the petitioner still remained female in every cell of their body"; that decision may have been overturned by other legislation, but I don't expect the Saudi Ulema to be any more 'liberal'.

And what about your educational qualifications. Are they in your old name or your new name?

all of my credentials are in my new name. I didn't encounter any problems here, as far as paperwork. again, i do not inform others of my condition, so the only way any one would know is if he/she saw the lower region of my body.

Thanks again!

Let's get this straight. You are a transexual who wants to come to a country which almost certainly doesn't recognize transgenderism (indeed probably has never even thought about it), practises incredibly strict segregation of the sexes, and not only that but you want a job teaching adolescent boys?

Has it not ocurred to you what will happen when/if your deception is found out?

Sort of reminds me of those US military types who come to KSA and attempt to indoctrinate Arab students with their pro-Bush, pro-Israel, pro-Iraq war views, and then come over all shocked and offended when they find out that their opinions don't actually go down too well in this part of the world.

Mr Inkazak, as far as you have medical file which prove that you have been through therapy, and your passport states that you are a man, I do not see any problem with your case. There are Saudis who have the same case as yours and went thought therapy. Some section of the Saudi society understand these cases, so no problem at all.

The only thing you have to take into account is that you have to act as normal as possible. And keep a distance between you and the male students (I mean do not socialise with them in public).
Because of the segregation between male and female in Saudi society, there is a possibility of homosexuality and lesbian behaviour between same sexes in secret! And under Saudi laws, if found guilty of homosexuality or lesbian behaviour, it is punishable!
So be careful were you put your feet and where you put your thoughts!!!!

Wow! Do you really think so? Shocked It is amazing that you were able to make this connection, ~ between segregation of the sexes and the "possibility" of secretive same sex shenanigans...did you come up with this insightful tidbit on your own or did you have to do some research?

Just curious?

QUOTE:
"Riyadh - Saudi authorities arrested 20 young men after raiding a suspected gay wedding in the southern town of Jizan, a newspaper reported on Wednesday.
The detainees, who were among some 400 men attending "the wedding party of two men" on Tuesday, had been "emulating women," the Al-Watan paper said.
In all, some 250 people were detained in the police raid on the party but the rest were later released.
Police had "arrested the wanted people and released those who have nothing to do with the matter," the paper quoted a police commander as saying.
Some guests were also seen chewing qat, an illegal narcotic widely used in neighbouring Yemen, on a hill above the square where the party was being held, Al-Watan said."
END OF QUOTE.

It is? I thought that Saudi law, like most, um, 'traditional' legal systems, did not even recognise the concept of female homosexuality, let alone devise ways of punishing it.

My "deception" is never "found out" I am a man. I was born with a medical condition. The only people aware of my medical history are my girlfriend and my family

I wonder if you consider someone who doesnt announce to the world that he or she has diabetes as being "deceitful".

The only thing you have to take into account is that you have to act as normal as possible.

I act like a normal guy.

And keep a distance between you and the male students (I mean do not socialise with them in public).

so men cant interact with men in public?

this shouldnt be a problem since im not gay.

really my question has to do with whether or not a doctor performing an exam on me would see the lower half of my anatomy.

thanks..i hope someone can answer my question.

The doctor will not examine or see your lower half of your anatomy, unless if you are complaining from something!
For normal medical check, the most important thing is AIDS, Chest X-Rays, and Hepatitis check.

Inkkazak, use the word 'quote' at the beginning of the sentence, and a '/quote' (inside a [ ] bracket) at the end of the sentence you want to quote. Or use the 'QUOTE' option in the upper menu after highlighting the sentence you want to quote when editing your post.

Good grief! 007 sarcasm IS truly wasted on you!

Any clever adult with a bit of intelligence would beable to
surmise that 2 and 2 = 4 ...I certainly don't need an "article" from the Wall Street Journal to cement the idea in my head....

as for the OP's *beep* 'no pun intended'...the doc seeing your private parts during a medical examination...there is no definitive answer for that...you take your chances
