QAC,Jubail Industrial College,Sirte Oil-3 destinations for the TEFL desperado.......I've done 2 out of the 3...turned down JIC!!so alas, missed the clean sweep:).
My first EFL posting in the 'Switzerland' of the Czech Republic.(Language Link Decin),wasn't much fun either. It was followed by a year in the 'Venice' of Northern Poland,(IH Bydgoszcz). To hell with it-the beer was cheap and the chicks were free!!

Biff, it's a pity the beer wasn't free and the chicks were cheap. Makes much more sense.

Biff - you've been away! Where - do tell - unless it was Winchester nick or the like, and you want to be a bit reticent. Wouldn't be like you though..

Mind you, given your tendencies I do know of a lass in Southampton with a dungeon: she caters for masochistic tendencies like yours!Smile

Forgive me for being thick, but I've noticed the abbreviation QAC pop up recently in a couple of places in the discussion forum...what does it stand for? Biff mentioned Language Link, there's a name to conjure with....every time I hear it Ennio Morricone tunes start to play in my head.......

Kiel in the north of Germany... possibly the rudest most arrogant and ungrateful people Ive ever come across, all tied nicely in with a city that offers absolutely nothing of interest....

IMHO the lad who added Glasgow to the list from hell is being a wee bit harsh. For one thing Glasgow has a cutting edge club and live band scene that can rival anywhere, certainly London and dare I say even New York?

Heh, well maybe Kuwait isn't quite hell. More like purgatory. Or maybe just that first circle of hell where all the virtuous pagans are chillin'.

I'm sure there are all kinds of crappy places to teach though.

Borat would agree. He's certainly no fan of Uzbekistan. A plum job would be to teach English to up and coming Kazakh reporters?

Lodz in Poland. Crumbling buildings, sky-high tower blocks and crazy skinhead football hooligans everywhere. It is also shit for travelling as links to nicer places are poor. The Poles are OK to teach though.

I'd say Hamburg's the same, but at least there's more to do in HH, even if it's more expensive. The north of Germany's just so... unwelcoming, in such stark contrast to the rest of the country.
