Working for BorderLink is okay, but be warned they are a very cheap outfit that seems unwilling to part with their money. Contract signed early April, but actual pay doesn`t begin until first class two weeks later. No transportation pay. No pay or compensation for August. Was told that work would be available during August if it was wanted, but now it`s "we`re not sure if we have anything available." The required medical examination is another thing they refuse to pay for. 10 days paid holiday a year, but they are "insisting"that 5 of them be used during the regular paid holiday. A few months after signing the contract, another contract was presented to sign. No major differences between the two, but rather dodgy. On the plus side, the company doesn`t micro-manage the lessons, so as long as you get along with your Japanese teacher,you should be able to do what you want.
Interac is okay, but a little too large for their own good as they sometimes have trouble keeping track of employees. Was told that my second year contract had been signed and recieved even though I never did sign one, contract was lost then was sent a termination package as the paperwork had reached the wrong desk. The contract with the local Board of Education had been cancelled sometime in February, but I didn`t find out about it until April and was basically told "well, sorry but there is no work for you."
Both companies have their ups and downs, but considering that most all B.O.E.s are using dispatch companies, there isn`t much choice. Would probably choose Borderlink over Interac as it is not paranoid about its image and doesn`t contact you every few weeks to make sure you haven`t done anything that could possible tarnish their image in any way.
